![]() ![]() ![]() This new mask is “an alright fit” and she’s enjoying what she’s doing. According to Calli, by throwing out her past self and putting on this new mask, she struck it rich. Every talent in Hololive has a former persona, some even keep it active, but they must separate it from their Hololive self, the new “mask” that they put on. But when they sign they have to “throw out the past” or get rid of your own persona. When you are signed with Cover Corp as a part of Hololive, they ask for talent that have backgrounds in “content creation”, meaning those that are already somewhat popular. ![]() Nobody asked, but the mask is an alright fit.” What I think this refers to is the things that she and other talents in Cover Corp have done. “Ya toss out the past, and you can strike it rich. One of my favorite bars is a little after this. That doesn’t mean that she won’t fight for it tho. However, we also see how she is contemplating her future, “As this red runs black, I’ll ask you, was I everything you imagined? When my times finally up, the sun’s falling down.” Calli knows that this won’t last forever, as the second verse starts she continues this train of thought saying that she’ll relish the time she has as this persona. Her ambition has her a prisoner because there is not enough time in the day to do all that she wants. In the chorus she sings “I’ll always be a prisoner to my ambition.” Calli is telling us that she still is a workaholic business lady getting it done. She then still works nonstop to make art, music, and entertain for fans of both of her personas. She streams at ungodly hours her time (2-3 am) to accommodate to us in the west. As she mentions a little before this and we have all seen, Calliope doesn’t sleep. It is making her work nonstop since she needs to manage both. She is Calliope Mori and she is her original persona that she is still active with. ” I think this refers to how she is split between two public personas. Towards the end of the first verse she is talking about how she’s feeling the pressure to impress and she also feels the “creeping feeling of identity battles closing in on every side of. Here are some bars that really strike me, that I think I caught. The two reaction/analyses that u recommend is Scru Face Jean’s and an indie Vtuber’s reaction by the name of Dicequeen Di. Throughout the different verses she contemplates what she’s been feeling as she’s more than halfway through her first contract with Cover, and she discusses multiple times throughout the song about what will become of her once the persona of “Calliope Mori” is gone. “Red tomorrow, Red today.” separates the song well. These include a vinyl pressing of the EP, a poster and badges with art by Rei, as well as a dakimakura hugging pillow based on art by SARUEI all can be shipped overseas.Īlternatively, the album alone can be purchased via CD Japan or streamed on most major services. This is just me spitballing here as I listen to Red nonstop, along with trying to find different reactions and analyses to it.įrom what I gather, Red is about Calliope’s worries about the future and what she still wants to do today. It fits in right alongside the likes of ‘ Ibasho (Where I Belong),’ which Mori wrote for Princess Connect! Re:Dive. Overall, ‘Your Mori.’ is less rambunctious than her debut EP: it does feature some bangers, but dials back the self-confident swagger just a little bit to reveal more of a sensitive side. It’s easily the VTuber’s most ambitious project yet, demonstrating her tremendous talents in the process. Mori did the animation herself, alongside the rap and lyrics, while てにをは (Teniwowa) composed the music and AO provided mixing. The music video for ‘Red’ features artwork by Rei, a Chinese illustrator who has contributed to many doujin projects in the past. ![]()
